GLASS
Glass is 100% recyclable and can be endlessly reprocessed with no loss of quality. While glass can’t recycled through the regular kerbside waste collection service, NKDC provide several local bottle banks. > List of local bottle banks
PLASTIC BOTTLE TOPS, JAR LIDS & ALUMINIUM FOOD TRAYS
Plastic bottle tops can’t be recycled through your usual kerbside collection but can be taken to your local household recycling centre. GREEN BIN GENERAL WASTE
Green bin waste is taken to the Veolia transfer station (next to the Newark Household Recycling Centre) where they bulk it up on big lorries and drive it up the A1 to Sheffield’s Energy from Waste plant. > Read more about general waste
